Cr–Mn system is very important for many applications. In the present work, reported intermetallic compounds have been studied using in situ high temperature neutron powder diffraction. For first time, site occupancies a σ phase are obtained as function of by Rietveld analysis. They compared with calculated data from DFT. The previously order-disorder transition around 1000 °C shown to be fact congruent transformation bcc solid solution.
